Baseball Fun for a Good Cause

One of the official signs that spring has arrived in Boston is Opening Day at Fenway Park. Although the weather outside was chillier than we would have liked, JDJ team members celebrated this annual rite of passage by eating baseball-centric food and participating in the Rally for the Jimmy Fund. The Jimmy Fund supports Boston’s Dana Farber Cancer Institute by raising money for adult and pediatric cancer care and research. Since 2006, these events have raised more than $5.2 million for this worthy cause. JDJ team members did their part by donating more than $1,200 for the Jimmy Fund.

While wearing their favorite baseball team’s gear, JDJers enjoyed eating hot dogs, peanuts, and Cracker Jacks, watching some of the opening ceremony on TV, and winning terrific raffle prizes, including two tickets to an upcoming Red Sox game. Of course, no JDJ party is complete without an ice cream sundae bar. Overall, it was a great day to spend time together, eat good food, and lend a hand to support a worthy cause. It was an exciting game – the Red Sox rallied to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 in twelve innings. The season is off to an auspicious start!
