This year marks some important milestones for JDJ; in 2021 we celebrate 20 years since our founding. JDJ was launched in 2001 with the belief that there was an unmet need for administrative family office services, and we are so grateful to everyone who believed in us along the way, including those first clients, who we are proud to still work with today.

Another significant event is the retirement of Doreen M. Biebusch, our beloved co-founder and partner, effective February 25. During a transition period, Doreen will consult with JDJ in her new role of Partner Emeritus. Doreen has been integral to the success and growth of JDJ, as well as a transformational leader in the industry. She has had a profound impact on every single person at the firm, and we have learned so much from her example and dedication. Doreen epitomizes client service, going above and beyond to meet and anticipate the needs of her clients, always acting in their best interests.

“It’s never easy to bid farewell to a colleague, especially someone who I have worked so closely with for more than 25 years and who is a dear friend.” said Jamie Kittler, President and co-founder of JDJ. “On a personal note, I will not only miss Doreen’s business acumen and wise counsel, but also her sense of humor and fun-loving side. She will be missed by all, especially me.”

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve our clients for the last 20 years,” noted Doreen.  “I want to thank the team at JDJ for their outstanding work and support over the years. Our reputation in the industry is a tribute to the integrity and professionalism of my colleagues. I am excited to start this new chapter of my life, and will take with me all I have learned from working with the incredible team at JDJ. I remain thankful for our exceptional clients who have allowed me to share in their lives.”

Doreen’s extensive financial and management background enabled her to provide keen insight to clients in several areas, most notably financial management and tax planning. Clients relied on her excellent communication, analytical, and management skills. Her strengths include policy and procedure creation as well as financial reporting and analysis. Her mentoring and leadership skills will ensure that her legacy within JDJ will continue.

Doreen co-founded JDJ Resources in 2001 and held the position of President until 2011. After JDJ’s merger with Rothstein Kass, Doreen was a director in the Rothstein Kass Family Office Group. In 2014, Jamie, Doreen and Steve Sarcione co-founded JDJ Family Office Services. Previously, Doreen served as CFO for both AEGIS and Aldrich Eastman Waltch (AEW). Doreen began her career at KMPG in 1981.

Doreen is a Certified Public Accountant. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Babson College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Skidmore College.

Those of us who know Doreen are confident she will not slow down or retire in any traditional sense, but will instead shift the focus of her considerable talents and boundless energy in pursuit of her other passions: reading, philanthropy, spending time with family and friends, and eventually, travel.

As a tribute to Doreen, we established and made an initial contribution to the JDJ City Fund in Honor of Doreen Biebusch. During her 40 years of living and working in Boston, Doreen has seen firsthand the tremendous need that exists, especially in our current health and economic crisis. It is yet another example of Doreen’s selfless and caring nature that she has chosen to focus on improving the lives of people in the community she loves.

Our goal is to raise as much money as possible for the causes that are meaningful to Doreen. If you are able to do so, please consider making a donation to honor Doreen’s long and distinguished career. Donations can be made via credit card, with a check payable to “JDJ City Fund in Honor of Doreen Biebusch mailed to The Boston Foundation, 75 Arlington Street, 3rd Floor, Boston, MA 02116, via wire by contacting The Boston Foundation, or with the assistance of a JDJ team member. Thank you for your consideration.

Congratulations, Doreen!
