Tyler Hilliard Wins JDJ CARE Award

Tyler CARE 3

Congratulations to Tyler Hilliard, the recipient of the July 2020 Capturing and Recognizing Excellence (CARE) award! The JDJ CARE award launched last summer as a way for JDJ team members to recognize their peers who deliver outstanding service to clients and colleagues. Tyler was selected for this honor because of his pivotal role in helping JDJ quickly and seamlessly transition to a remote working environment when the COVID pandemic began in March, and his ongoing support since then.

Tyler plays a dual role at JDJ, serving as our in-house IT expert and handling corporate accounting and reporting responsibilities. Tyler’s background, which includes four years as a JDJ client service associate, as well as his knowledge of and affinity for technology, combine to make him a true asset to our team. Tyler was nominated and co-sponsored for the CARE award by a total of twelve of his colleagues, which is a true testament to the breadth of the impact that Tyler has on the entire firm.

Tyler is renowned for his teaching abilities, and almost every nomination mentioned his never-ending patience, which is always on display. One nominator noted, “People go to Tyler not just because he is extremely knowledgeable, but also because he is approachable, patient, and kind.” Another commented, “Tyler fields questions from peers all day long. Rather than be annoyed, he seems to thoroughly enjoy helping.”

His teammates characterize Tyler as “invaluable as a resource for the technology we rely on and in improving the way we utilize our technology.” Another person commented, “Thanks to his help getting JDJ to operate remotely, we were able to get through a reporting cycle and tax cycle extremely smoothly.” Tyler, thank you for all your contributions to JDJ run efficiently, improve processes, and make the most of technology.

Thanks also to Kylie Ruschioni for her surprise visit to Tyler’s home with balloons and a silver bowl engraved with his name during the award announcement at our virtual firm meeting last week.

The CARE award is made twice a year; Stephen Lau won the inaugural award last July and Abi Smith was honored in December.
